SMS / Text-Message Terms & Opt-In Disclosure

These SMS Terms describe the optional text-message program offered by SSA MEDIA LLC (doing business as SplashPad, "we", "us"). This document is the formal opt-in disclosure required by U.S. mobile carriers and is referenced from the SMS consent checkbox on parent/guardian registration pages and from your account settings.
1. Program purpose
The SplashPad SMS program lets a swim coach who uses our software send operational text messages to families who have explicitly opted in during registration on that coach's booking page. The program is operational only — we never send marketing, promotional, or third-party advertising messages.
2. Who sends the messages
Outbound messages are sent through Twilio, Inc. on behalf of SSA MEDIA LLC and the specific coach you enrolled with. Every message starts with a brand prefix so you always know who is contacting you:
SplashPad — Coach [Coach Name]: ...
For example:
SplashPad — Coach Sarah: Reminder — Emma's lesson is tomorrow at 4 PM.
3. Message categories
Messages will only be one of the following operational categories:
1. Lesson reminders — automated reminder before each scheduled lesson (typically 24 hours and 1 hour before). 2. Lesson cancellations, reschedules, or weather closures — sent by the coach when a session is changed or cancelled. 3. Coach broadcasts — operational announcements from the coach to their enrolled families (e.g. holiday schedule, pool closure, instructor substitution). 4. Two-way confirm/cancel — you may reply to certain reminders to confirm or cancel a single lesson. Replies that are not recognised commands (STOP, HELP, YES, NO, CANCEL, CONFIRM) are forwarded to the coach.
We do not send: marketing or promotional messages, sweepstakes, affiliate offers, political content, or any messages on behalf of third parties.
4. Opt-in
You can opt in to receive SMS in two ways:
1. During registration on a coach's booking page — you provide your mobile phone number AND tick a checkbox that reads (with your phone number shown for clarity):
> *"Yes, send text messages to [your phone number] from SplashPad > about lessons (reminders, cancellations, schedule changes). Message > frequency varies and can be daily during active lesson seasons. > Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for > help. View our SMS Terms and Privacy Policy."*
The checkbox is off by default. You must take affirmative action to opt in. Submitting the registration form without ticking the checkbox creates your account without any SMS enrollment.
2. From your parent dashboard — at any time you can toggle SMS on under "Notification settings", which records your consent timestamp and IP address in the same audit log used for registration opt-ins.
5. Message frequency
Message frequency varies depending on how many lessons your child attends. During an active lesson season frequency can be as high as daily, including weekends. Outside lesson seasons the program is typically silent.
6. Costs
We do not charge anything for SMS. Message and data rates may apply from your wireless carrier; consult your carrier's plan for details.
7. Opt-out (STOP) and help (HELP)
You can stop receiving messages at any time by any of the following:
- Reply STOP to any message — your number is immediately removed
from all SplashPad SMS lists. Twilio sends a single confirmation message and then we will not text you again unless you re-opt-in.
- Reply HELP to any message — you'll receive a short reply with
contact information for support.
- Toggle SMS off in your parent dashboard under "Notification settings".
- Email support@splashpad.pro with subject "STOP SMS" — we will
remove your number within one business day.
Opting out of SMS does not cancel your child's lessons or affect any other notifications (e.g. email receipts).
8. Privacy & data sharing
Mobile phone numbers and SMS opt-in data are never sold, rented, or shared with third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes.
Phone numbers are shared only with:
- Twilio, Inc. — our SMS delivery provider, processes phone numbers
solely to deliver the messages you asked us to send. Twilio is bound by its own privacy policy: https://www.twilio.com/legal/privacy
- The specific coach you enrolled with — the coach can see your
phone number to call or text you about lessons, the same way they see your name and emergency contact.
We do not use phone numbers for advertising, retargeting, or any purpose other than the operational messages described in Section 3.
9. Eligibility
The SMS program is available to U.S. mobile numbers only. By opting in you confirm that:
- You are the owner or authorised user of the phone number you
provided.
- You are at least 18 years of age (parents/guardians register on
behalf of children).
- You agree to these SMS Terms and to receive the messages described
above.
10. Carrier disclaimer
Carriers (AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon, etc.) are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Delivery is not guaranteed.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these SMS Terms from time to time. When we make a material change we'll bump the version number at the top and notify opted-in users via SMS or email at least 14 days in advance.
